Processes

Implementing industry
leading processes

To ensure that we always have continuous supply of materials we have a number of proven and documented processes including:

  • Conducting ‘horizon scanning’, enabling us to identify potential interruptions in supply and scoping alternatives, ensuring that we always have a list of other suppliers who are available to take on work should we have to cease using our existing supplier
  • Back-up delivery methods mean we can switch from sea shipments to air on raw materials, as well as additional road transportation methods and providers
  • Substantial back-up stock holdings minimising any interruption in supply
  • Regular reviews with suppliers ensure we’re aware of potential issues early
  • We take the prompt payment of our supply chain seriously. We report our payment through the UK Government website

All Stannah’s preferred suppliers must go through our onboarding and approval process which covers the following areas:

  • Organisation
  • Facilities
  • Financial
  • Logistics
  • Production
  • Returns
  • Quality Management
  • Environmental management
  • GDPR Regulation
  • Stannah T&C’s adherence
  • Coverage of Modern Slavery, Stannah’s expectations on all companies they do business with as well as providing our statement
  • Supplier’s facilities will be visited prior to onboarding, to ensure it is adequate and the capability and capacity is adequate
  • A credit check will be run on the company as well as adding them to the system to monitor any further changes.
  • Our accounts department will contact the company to run final checks
  • They are approved for onboarding by the proposer, line manager and supplier account manager/commercial operations manager
  • Suppliers are appropriately monitored via reviews and service level agreements. Their documentation will be reviewed alongside these to ensure everything is up to date
  • Suppliers can only remain live on the Stannah system if they have been actively used in 2 years. If they have not, they become automatically disabled

We only use approved subcontractors to facilitate the preparatory works and asbestos removal, as we do not conduct this work ourselves. Stannah remain fully accountable for the performance of both our staff and subcontractors.

Subcontractors go through a rigorous onboarding process to become a Stannah approved contractor.

Subcontractors and contractors must complete:

  • New Supplier Form
  • Subcontractor Registration Form
  • Health, Safety Environment & Quality Group Contractor Questionnaire
  • Contractors Code of Conduct (including Stannah Safety Rules)
  • Insurance Broker’s Questionnaire must be supplied with certificates annually
  • Data Processing Agreement
  • Modern Slavery Declaration
  • Subcontractor Terms & Conditions Group Standard
  • LEIA Safety Charter (Lift contractors only)

Sub-contractors that go into our customers houses regularly will at certain times have a Stannah employee carrying out site monitoring on them.

Contract mobilisation is key at Stannah. We have a contract that outlines our onboarding approach to fully ensure that the promises and commitments made in our tender responses are delivered from the outset. These include:

  • Customer face to face contract kick off meeting
  • Internal installation depot meeting at one of our 9 depots
  • Internal service & maintenance branch kick off meeting at one of our 11 branches
  • Internal sales operations kick off meeting normally at our head office in Andover
  • Internal contract data loading call
  • Ensure correct quoting procedures in place
  • Ensure order processing data all correct
  • Ensure KPIs loaded into our own internal management system

Ensuring that everything that was committed to is loaded within our systems and processes from the outset ensures we identify risks and mitigate them early.

We’re proud to take compliance seriously. Our long standing health and safety and environmental expertise provides you with total peace of mind. We’re committed to upholding shared sustainability goals and are always working to keep our employees, environments, customers, and communities safe.

Please note the Stannah Group is comprised of a number of different companies and some of the policies, accreditations may only be relevant to one of the group businesses.
